The growing cryptocurrency and decentralized finance space is way too important to miss out on it because it seems complicated.

The mission of Plain English Crypto is to make it simple and approachable.

Typically, crypto seems to be dominated by nerds, traders and… lots of jargon. Some even have a bit of an attitude, frankly. To people on the outside trying to figure it all out, it often seems confusing and overwhelming.

“Normal people” often have a helluva time. Some avoid getting into it because they don’t understand it. They’re scared of losing money… or getting scammed. And because the crypto world is a bit like the “wild wild west” right now, there are indeed scams out there to be careful of.

If you want to stay tuned into the world of crypto and how it can benefit you and your financial life, get subscribed and stick around.

My goal is to make it simple. To explain things in plain english.

The world is changing fast. I firmly believe crypto and blockchain will change the world. I feel compelled to help people be part of it. That’s it.

Who is David Risley?

Look, I’ll be honest. I’m no crypto expert. I’m an investor in the space and I am an enthusiast.

My background online, however, is a long one. I’ve been a blogger since 1998 and have been making my living full-time as an online publisher and educator for over 20 years.

I started a technology blog in 1998 and grew it into a six-figure, multi-author business which was found in publications like PC World, PC Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal. I turned that blog into a commercial success using a combination of advertising, affiliate revenue, online courses, writing and selling books and CDs, and even a membership site before it was cool.

In 2008, I founded the Blog Marketing Academy. Since then, I have worked with thousands of students on their blogs, in every niche you could think of. All of this has now been brought to THE LAB, the training and support platform of the Blog Marketing Academy.

I’ve been making my full-time living online for over two decades. But, that’s my work. For fun, I love to travel in our 36-foot motorhome with my wife and 2 kids. I’ve got a blog for that, too. You can find that one at HappilyRV.

My journey down the rabbit hole of cryptocurrency began in late 2016. I had a day working from home where…. I just wasn’t in the mood to work. At all. Wasn’t feelin’ it. So, I decided… fuggit, I’m going to go watch Youtube. Before I knew it, I stumbled on some videos about Bitcoin.

That’s how it began. And shortly thereafter, I purchased my first Bitcoin.

For me, this wasn’t simply a way to make money. As I learned more about it, something “clicked”. And… I understood. I understood the impact this could have on the world.

And I’ve found that… once it “clicks”, it is really hard not to be enthusiastic as hell about it.
